The final stage is complete on this illustration. I shaded it in grey tones because it's for a black and white book. I added some texture to the greys for a little more atmosphere. It came out looking good overall and my client really liked it. Click the image for a full size view.

Inked!

Here's the inked (digitally) version of the illustration I've been posting. I've been trying to tighten up my process and learn to enjoy each step. So posting it as I go has helped me think about what I'm doing and not rush to get to the next stage prematurely. This is for a black and white book but I have one stage to go where I will be adding grey tone shading. Click the image for the full view.

Pencil Changes

My client requested changes after seeing the pencils. He changed his mind on showing the dead alien as opposed to just a chalk outline. He also didn't like my Kirby gadget. Well, what was that thing anyway? Click the thumbnail for a full size view.
